Privacy Policy
Effective September 23, 2026
This policy explains what we collect when you use punapay.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how long we keep it.
The short version: we collect what you type into our forms, we use it to work out whether we can do better than your current processor, we share it with the processing platform behind us when that is what you have asked for, and we do not sell it to anyone.
1. Overview and scope
Puna Pay is a Bittsi, Inc. company (“Puna Pay”, “we”, “us”). This policy covers the information we collect through punapay.com and through the enquiry and rate-review forms on it.
This site has no accounts and nothing to log into. If you go on to open a merchant account, the processing platform that underwrites and services that account is a separate company with its own privacy policy, and that policy — not this one — governs the information it holds about your account and your transactions.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. Both forms on this site ask for business and contact details: business name, your name, email address, phone number, the industry you operate in, your approximate monthly card-processing volume, your current processor and the POS or business software you use if you choose to name them, the page of this site you submitted the form from, and anything you write in the message field.
Figures you give us. The rate-review form asks for your approximate card volume and, optionally, what you paid in processing fees last month. We do not ask for, and do not accept, processing statements or other financial documents. If one is sent to us anyway, we delete it and ask for the figures instead.
Messages to the site assistant. If you use the chat assistant on this site, the messages you type are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a reply. Please don’t include card numbers, bank details or statements in chat — the assistant refuses them. We don’t link conversations to an account, and we don’t currently store them after your session ends.
Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider records standard technical data when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use this to keep the site running and secure.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, card numbers, bank account credentials, Social Security numbers or government identification through this site.
3. Sources of information
We get information from you directly, when you complete a form or email us; automatically from your device when you visit the site; and occasionally from publicly available business sources when we verify the details you have given us.
4. How we use information
We use what you give us to:
- reply to your enquiry and answer your questions;
- prepare the rate review you asked for, and explain what we would do differently;
- prepare a quote and, if you decide to proceed, submit an application on your behalf;
- provide support and account servicing afterwards;
- keep the site secure and diagnose problems; and
- meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We contact you by email or phone about the enquiry you made. We do not send marketing text messages, and we do not use automated dialling or pre-recorded calls.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not use it to train artificial-intelligence models.
7. Data retention
We keep enquiry and rate-review records for as long as we are in contact with you about them, and for up to twenty-four months afterwards, so that we can pick up a conversation you return to. Server logs are kept for up to twelve months.
If you become a merchant, we keep the records associated with your account for as long as the account is open and for the period our agreements and applicable law require afterwards.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reputable hosting and email providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — which is one reason we ask you not to send card numbers or bank credentials through this site.
9. Your rights and choices
You can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Write to info@punapay.com and we will respond within thirty to forty-five days.
Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have specific rights of access, correction, deletion and portability, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We apply these rights to everyone who asks, wherever you live. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
You can opt out of our emails at any time using the unsubscribe link, or by replying and asking.
10. Children's privacy
This site is for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Third-party services
This site links to other organisations, and our processing partner operates independently of us. Their privacy practices are their own and are governed by their policies, not this one. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we link to.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of the page, and where the change is significant we will say so on the site.
13. Contact us
Questions about this policy, or a request about your information, go to info@punapay.com or (512) 222-9080.
